UPDATE: It’s been confirmed that Ariana Grande and Starbucks are launching an “airy microfoam” drink called the Cloud Macchiato in honour of IWD. It will be available with caramel and cinnamon flavors, and served cold or hot.
It looks like Ariana Grande and Starbucks have been working on the most badass collaboration of 2019 after both their social-media accounts have been teasing a secret project.
It all began when the coffee chain posted some cryptic messages asking fans to find their “cloud name” alongside an image of the sky decorated with hidden messages referencing ‘Thank U, Next’ and ‘Fake Smile.’
Their Instagram account later posted a video of what looks like either a bath bomb or a sweetener product in the shape of a cloud. Which just so happens to tie-in with the name of Ariana’s brand new perfume, Cloud.
As conspiracy theories go, it’s pretty clear that Ari and Starbucks have definitely teamed up on ~something~ although the jury’s still out on whether the final product will be a drink, a sweetener, a snack, or something else altogether.
With Ariana later posting screengrabs of the hints on Instagram Stories, it’s clearly only a matter of time before the truth becomes clear. She also posted the following tweet alongside several coffee and cloud themed emojis: “…. @starbucks 3/5 [sic]”
No word yet on what this epic collab is going to be, but we have our fingers crossed we’ll soon be able to stroll into our local branch and ask for a Grande Grande with extra sweetener on top.
As the singer once posted back in November 2013, there’s only one coffee brand out there worthy of her time and attention: “You complete me @Starbucks.”
