Somerset are in a bit of trouble down at Taunton after they were skittled out for 171 by Kent, with Mitchell Claydon taking 5-46.
The visitors replied by reaching the close on 84-2 in their first innings, leaving them 87 runs adrift.
“I think if the guys had that opportunity to bat again they’d certainly apply themselves differently and we’re going to have to do that in the second innings,” head coach Jason Kerr told BBC Somerset.
“I don’t think there are any demons in the wicket and to be fair to the ground staff, with the weather we’ve had recently they’ve done a brilliant job to produce what’s a good cricket wicket.”

From BBC Sport commentator Kit Harris: “The Taunton pitch wasn’t all that challenging yesterday (above left), with Somerset’s performance more the result of poor shot selection
against the swinging ball.
“Today the pitch is a little lighter and drier (right) but the weather’s still cold and overcast and the home attack will
simply need be more patient than the Kent batsmen. We’re still catching up the time lost on day one so there
will be 104 overs today, with an extra 10 minutes added to each session.”
